Rochester Community Mural

An 1,800 square-foot public art landmark is scheduled for installation in Lake Norcentra Park. Sponsored by Chief Financial Credit Union, the mural will be located in a very visible location on the Clinton River Trail. Led by Christine Gibson, in consultation with Mural Arts of Philadelphia, community volunteers began painting the mural on 72 5’x5’ panels in December 2016. The painting was finished nearly a month ahead of schedule during the first week of February 2017. Well over 150 volunteers assisted with the painting. Many volunteered on a regular basis. In June, a consultant from Mural Arts will return to assist with installation of the mural. Rochester College is thankful for the volunteers, the sponsors, and the city of Rochester Hills for providing this opportunity for the community.

Lake Norcentra Volunteer Day

Each spring the Alumni Association sponsors a park volunteer day. Over the past four years, alumni, students, and community friends have focused on spring cleanup efforts in the park and have completed a number of special projects. The event includes a continental breakfast and lunch for participants, and the day ends with ice cream. The date for the volunteer day is normally announced a few months in advance.
